Out & About

Pentre in Polgooth is perfectly located for exploring much of Cornwall. With its village location, there is a corner shop 30 seconds walk away, providing you with daily papers, fresh bread and milk as well as a good selection of groceries. The Polgooth Inn is a 5 minute walk away, an excellent watering hole for the whole family with great food and local ales. A 5 minute drive away Kingswood Restaurant is also great for a meal out. The village also has a playground for those with small children who need a quick runaround, only 2 minutes walk! The town of St. Austell is 3 miles away for any high street shops you may need, with a choice of supermarkets on the outskirts of the town, which will deliver if you prefer.

Truro: Truro is Cornwall’s only city and the heart of high street shopping in the county. There is wealth of independent shops alongside the big brands, making Truro somewhere to spend a day if you like an old cathedral city, with narrow alleyways of shops and an abundance of places to eat. A very convenient Park & Ride operates from Tregurra (on the A390 from St. Austell), taking 5 minutes to get you to Quay Street into the heart of Truro. The bus picks you up again on the opposite side of the same road to get back to your car.
